Sooo, it's been ages since I did anything here. In fact, I admit that my account here has been pretty much abandoned these past few years. But I recently decided to poke around here and I figured maybe it's about time I slowly make my way back. Not sure what exactly i'd post from here on but I guess I could post some things i've worked on recently.

Speaking of which, one thing i've been up to is that i've been making a game on my own time, which I decided to call 'Verge Axis'. I've been working on it for a little over a year now and it's currently in a playable state but still needs a lot of work, so here's a video I uploaded recently of the latest build. Everything was done by me except for the music, which was done by Remix Rave on YouTube (Also, the song is a placeholder and not final).

So obviously, the track is a work in progress but at this point I was more focused on testing the track layout before adding anything else. And while this is clearly inspired by the likes of F-Zero and such, i'm more aiming to capture the spirit of F-Zero rather than just copying it. One of my favorite things from any F-Zero game were the tracks that had a lot of jumps and I decided to work that into the main mechanic of my game.

The main gameplay mechanic is that you can continually boost by holding down the boost button but doing so increases a temperature meter and when it gets full, you'll overheat and you won't be able to boost for a few seconds. You can stop boosting to have the temperature meter go down or you could go off jumps and do barrel rolls in the air to reset the temperature meter so you can keep boosting. So yeah, this is what i've been up to lately and I hope to make this into an actual game someday. Not sure how long it will take but I plan to keep at it until then.

Jeezus it's been forever since i've done anything here. While I haven't uploaded anything for the longest time, I still browse around here from time to time. Nowadays, i'm still just working and getting by in life and although I still need to get a new tablet, i've still found a few things to do on the side, such as recording me and a friend of mine playing games and uploading them to youtube, which can be found here, www.youtube.com/channel/UCGTU5… I've also recently made a thing that has to do with a certain racing franchise that i'm particularly fond of and it can be seen here,  (Holy Crap! You can embed youtube vids here now!? That's new to me haha) Anyway, I hope to get a new tablet soon so I can upload some drawings again. But that's all for now so until then, take care!

Welp, the new year is upon us and with it comes an opportunity to better ourselves. Anyone watching me may have noticed that I sometimes upload 3D work. Right now i'm trying to find a job doing that kind of thing. No luck so far though but i'm still hopeful. As for my activity here, I haven't been able to do much mostly because i'm still in need for a new drawing tablet and i'm pretty busy most of the time so I don't have a lot of time to draw as much as I used to. Anyway, i'm going into this new year pretty hopeful about accomplishing my goals and to anyone reading this, I hope things work out for you to, whatever they may be.

Well whaddya know?! It has now been TEN years since one of my favorite games of all time was released on this day in Japan, which was before the US and UK release dates obviously but I digress. That's right folks, i'm talking about F-Zero GX! Even after ten years, I still play this game for fun and even after beating it and unlocking everything TWICE (on seperate memory cards no less) I still enjoy playing it and i've never once found it boring. I was even planning on recording a playthrough of the story mode on very hard and uploading it to youtube or something but I wasn't able to due to time constraints and the fact that I do not own any capture equipment, which bums me out big time, but the least I could do is spread the word.

So happy 10th anniversary GX! There may not be a new F-Zero game for a long while but i'm still happy knowing that my copy of you still works and that i'll still be playing you for years to come.

So to anyone reading this and is also a fan of the game, I ask you to name your favorite character, machine, track, character theme, track theme, story mode chapter, interview question, and character ending. I'll start:

Favorite character: Draq- I could never really pinpoint why but i've always liked Draq. I think it's because he's a really big guy but he's also really humble and he's not really racing for the sake of his ego or that he has a grudge against someone like most characters do. He just wants to race so he could win the prize money and use it to buy his own machine so he can race some more. It shows that he's just a huge fan of the F-Zero competition and he just wants to continue to be a part of it. It could also be the fact that some aspects of him remind me of myself, especially the whole him being humble thing.

Favorite machine: Fire Stingray or any machine with a low grip- I've always liked using the Fire Stingray mostly because that it's only problem was its acceleration. But once it gets going, it's pretty hard to stop since it has a high top speed, easy handling, and is heavy enough to not get knocked around so easily. I also like to use machines with a low grip rating, especially machines like Night Thunder. Constantly swerving and fighting to keep control just makes the game more fun for me especially when you get a lot of speed for drifting on the acceleration setting which seems to be more effective the lower the grip rating is.

Favorite track: Casino Palace- Double branches- I like almost all of the tracks in this game but my top pick usually goes to double branches, mostly because the way it's designed allows me to show off how well I can handle curves at top speed and how fast the game is in general.

Favorite character theme: Super Arrow's theme- Okay, the thing is, I like ALL the character themes, but the only reason I like Super Arrow's theme a bit more is because I just like singing along to it. A little known fact about me is that I like to sing so naturally I enjoy the themes that have lyrics in them but I like Super Arrow's theme the most cuz of the way you gotta project your voice when you sing along to it. I just wish it wasn't so short.

Favorite track theme: Aeropolis- Like with the character themes, I like ALL the course themes, but I decided to go with Aeropolis because I find the song relaxing yet tense enough to keep you focussed. Then when you get to the final lap, it just gets hype and it really gives you the sense that you just gotta GO GO GO!

Favorite Storymode Chapter- CH.8- I just like the whole showdown aspect of this chapter. I also really liked the track you race in here mostly because it's where I first learned how to get through sharp turns quickly with out losing speed.

Favorite interview question: Deathborn's message to the viewers- For those who don't know, he basically threatens that everyone is going to die and that they should say goodbye to their loved ones NOW! This was pretty much the only character interview that literally made me say "holy shit! That's badass!"

Favorite character ending: Pico's- I feel that this should be self explanatory to anyone who's watched it. Since it seems that everyone's ending seems to be humorous (even the villains, WTF!?) Pico's was the only one that was serious and I never got tired of watching him doing flips and shooting guns. And the way it ended was pretty badass as well.

WHOOO!

Sorry, I couldn't think of a better title but it pretty much sums up how i'm feeling at the moment. First of all, I have finally graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree and this song seems pretty fitting www.youtube.com/watch?v=unjNBz… So now I plan on focusing on finding a job in my field. Aside from that, this summer will be pretty eventful for me as I have volunteered to work for access control at anime expo which is coming up pretty soon.

Anyway, one thing that i've noticed a lot recently is that I can actually feel my life shifting. I assume it's mostly due to the fact that my daily routine of going to school, finishing up homework, going to work, and such is changing (except for the going to work thing, I still gotta do that) and I actually feel like i'm actually moving forward in life which I am both excited and nervous about. I imagine that everyone that has finished school goes through this but the uncertainty of how things will turn out has been floating around my head a lot recently. Like many others, I want to be successful but i'm grounded in reality enough to know that things never really go your way and that life can change directions at any moment. This thought has gotten me pretty anxious and sometimes has gotten me feeling down, but whenever that happens, I just listen to this song, which I have listened to soooooo many times and i'm still not tired of hearing it. It's also a pretty kickass song too, www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpYSgw… so to anyone that's uncertain about their future, maybe this song might cheer you up like it has for me.

I also kinda feel bad for not posting anything on here in quite a while, which is mostly due to me making sure I did whatever I could to graduate from school, and even now i'm not really sure if I can find the time to work on anything to post here but knowing myself, if I ever think of something that I wanna post here it'll bug me until I actually do it and get it done so maybe there's hope for me yet here, ha ha. Anyway, that's it for now and whatever the future holds for us, I hope all will be well for not only me, but my family, my friends, my DA friends and to whoever is reading this right now. Until, next time folks!
